Colleagues at St Catherines Care Home in Bolton have hit the ground running to get themselves vaccinated against flu and make sure everyone visiting the home is aware of the threat the virus poses to residents.
As last year, they have created a Flu Awareness Board in the home's reception area and promoted the drop-in flu vaccination service at their local pharmacy, Hooton’s.
As a thank you to all colleagues receiving the vaccine to protect themselves and our residents, Home Manager Gillian Johnson has made them a gift bag containing a 'St Catherine’s Flu Fighter' mug, hand sanitizer, crisp, chocolate, FSHC bag, FSHC pen, FSHC lip balm and sweets.
The home has created great awareness around the importance of the vaccination and so far 68% of the team have already received their vaccination.
All visitors, in particular health professionals, have been highly impressed with the awareness the home has promoted against flu this year and their activity is a great example of best practice in this area.
Well done to everyone at St Catherine's on a fantastic initiative!
