With summer approaching, staff at Shawcross Care Home in Wigan have been thinking of new fun ways to encourage residents to keep hydrated.
Manager Peter came up with the idea of getting every resident a personalised hydration bottle each, with fun targets on them to remind them to keep drinking.
Each bottle has been labelled with residents' room numbers and it has proved a great idea. Staff have found that residents who can’t usually drink without assistance due to poor dexterity are able to grip their bottle and use the straw to drink safely.
