Four Seasons Care Home residents take part in UK’s largest tea tasting for National Tea Day

In celebration of National Tea Day 2021, we decided to bring some extra TLC into Four Seasons Health Care homes by launching our Tea Lovers Club as part of our Magic Moments Together activities programme.

Our first Tea Lovers Club event saw over 8,000 residents in all 180 Four Season’s care homes taking part in the UK’s biggest known tea tasting in a bid to find a new tea blend by residents’ popular vote.

Having sipped their way through nearly 12 million cups of tea during the pandemic year, our residents certainly are connoisseurs of a good brew!

On the tasting menu were three blends specially crafted for our residents by the family-run business, Tea From The Manor and included a caffeine-free Chamomile & Rose, alongside more traditional black teas; Blue Lady and Rose Congou.

Many homes, including Evedale and Haddon House, took the opportunity to 'raise a cuppa' to HM The Queen on the occasion of her 95th birthday and at Harrogate Lodge, residents enjoyed activities including a word search and quiz, all with a tea theme. At Middleton Hall, residents and team members dressed up for a 1940’s tea party held in their beautiful garden.

At Park House, family visitors were given a gift of the new teas to try at home with a welcome back cupcake to celebrate the return of indoor visits.

Once all the votes are counted, the winning blend from our tea tasting event will be launched across all homes in the Four Seasons Health Care Group. We’re all looking forward to sharing our new favourite brew with family and friends in our communi’tea’!
