Residents at Hilltop Manor enjoyed spending time in the garden during a sunny afternoon last week.
Alongside staff they started preparing the raised flower beds ahead of the home's upcoming Sunflower Competition, with Mavis and Mary weeding the flower beds and Rose, Maurice and Gertrude provided supervision.
Edna, Robert, Betty, Winnie and Eva also joined them in the garden for a spot of sun and relaxation with music from the record player and a special visit from Eugene, Hilltop Manor's very popular pet Pug!
Resident Mavis said:
“I have enjoyed being able to get out in the sun and start work in the gardens; I used to enjoy tending to my gardens at home.”
Home Manager Rebecca Mackenzie added:
“It’s been lovely to watch the residents enjoying the sun this afternoon. Many of our residents enjoy getting out into the garden as it is something that they used to love doing at home. They also enjoyed a visit from our special guest Eugene, who has enjoyed plenty of affection. We look forward to many more afternoons in the garden now that the weather is improving.”
Hilltop Manor Care Home regularly holds events and activities for its residents and surrounding neighbours, including an upcoming open day on June 28th 2019.
