Gardening Club at Park Lane

As the weather begins to get warmer, it is the perfect time to be outside in the sunshine. Here at Park Lane Care Home, we have started our very own gardening club.

Residents have been working hard to get the vegetable patch prepared and ready to plant new seeds. As a group, we decided to grow tomatoes, potatoes, mint and strawberries this summer!

Resident Norman is particularly excited to be outside gardening as it is one of his favourite hobbies; he has always loved the outdoors and growing fresh fruit and vegetables in his own garden. Norman helps water the new seeds every day making sure they will grow into big vegetables for all the residents to enjoy for lunch when they are ready to eat!

Magic Moment Coordinator, Charlotte said, “We love to encourage our residents to interact and enjoy their hobbies, especially ones which they haven’t tried before.”

Park Lane Care Home is located in Stoke-on-Trent and provides residential care, nursing care, residential dementia care and respite care
