Well done to Gosmore Care Home near Hitchin on putting on an interesting and very successful new event in the home last weekend, an Antiques Valuation Day.
The home teamed up with local antiques expert Marie Warner to offer a free valuation afternoon, and encouraged residents, relatives and members of the local community to come along and learn more about their forgotten treasures and family heirlooms, and find out what they might be worth.
The afternoon was a great success and attracted some great pieces, including a King Edward official design porcelain Coronation mug from 1937 and some insight into the history of Gosmore's very own house bell!
Mandy Church, Regional Manager said
“We have a brilliant team at Gosmore including highly trained nurses, carers, great housekeeping, maintenance and catering teams and of course our PAL Lisa who leads an excellent activities programme. The Antiques Valuations Day has proved an excellent addition and was a really interesting and happy day for everyone.
“Thank you to all the staff and everyone who visited on Sunday for helping to make it such a huge success. With its bright conservatory, historic building and traditionally landscaped gardens Gosmore Care Home made an ideal setting for this event and it will definitely be on our calendar again next year.”
