Hallgarth Care Home in Durham welcomed Katherine from the Alzheimer’s Society, who came for an afternoon of music and movement therapy with the residents and their relatives.
Angela Muir, Home Manager, said: “Katherine had a group of 20 of us clapping our hands, tapping our feet and singing to the music. We all chatted about our childhood, what games we used to play, we imagined flying kites, playing on the beach and much more. We then created the Hallgarth big band complete with our very own tambourines, maracas and bells. After all that hard work, we all enjoyed a cup of tea and a rest, which is always well deserved after a music and movement session.”
