Hallgarth pumpkin party

It's that time of year again - the Hallgarth pumpkin has been growing since June - but sadly it never got bigger than a tomato!

Each year however, Hallgarth has a competition against Colin Summer, a regular entertainer in the home, to see who can grow the biggest pumpkin.

Hallgarth has won for the last three years, so a plan was hatched to go and get a pumpkin from Asda to maintain their winning run. On the day of the pumpkin party the judging took place, and Hallgarth won by a quarter of an inch. In the end though they couldn't lie, and had to come clean and admit that this year's pumpkin had actually come from Asda.

But guess what ...? Colin then confessed that he too had bought his pumpkin in Asda, as his hadn't grown either!

So they decided to call it a draw - and concluded that the real winner this year was Asda!

The afternoon then continued with a good old sing-along, jokes and even some dancing. Art club did everyone proud with pumpkin-themed table covers and decorations and a grand afternoon was had by all.
