Birthdays are a very special occasion, but for Jack, his special day took a slight detour.
Jack was involved in an accident which resulted in him suffering from broken bones and other injuries. After being discharged from hospital he was welcomed to Evedale Care Home in Coventry by Home Manager Yvonne Russon, who built up a rapport with Jack in hospital.
Yvonne told us: “Jack didn’t seem phased by his accident; he was more upset that he didn’t get any birthday cake to celebrate his 100th year. Upon hearing this, I and the team at Evedale sprang into action. When Jack moved into Evedale and was settled, we brought out his very special birthday cake.
“The smile on Jack’s face told us everything we needed to know, but just as a little bit of reassurance he told us he was in heaven. Happy birthday Jack, I’m glad we could add a bit of extra sparkle to your day!”
Special experiences like this are something the teams at Four Seasons care homes provide on a regular basis. They take into account the wants and wishes of the resident and come up with plans to help provide them with the experiences they want.
