Residents’ wish to spend time under the sea

Our care teams do their utmost to provide special experiences for residents based on their wants and wishes.

When World Wish Day came along, it seemed silly not to make the most of it, and the team at Hesslewood House Care Home in Hessle waved their magic wands and took residents on a trip into the deep blue sea.

Kate Wilson, Home Manager, said: “Residents wanted to take time out under the sea and watch the fish and other sea creatures in their habitats. The team here were quick to oblige so off they all went to the local aquarium where they got up close and personal with a wide range of fish and other creatures. The residents had the opportunity to watch the sharks being fed which was fascinating. When they all returned to Hesslewood they were quick to fill me in on their adventure. I’m so proud that we’ve been able to provide this special experience for them.”
