Residents from Howdon Care Centre in Wallsend enjoyed a little bit of retail therapy as they went to the shops on the local high street.
Ruth Todd, Home Manager, said: “The residents enjoyed going into the shops and getting the bits and bobs they need. They then ended up in the Ritz Wetherspoon drinking lattes and eating carrot cake, whilst sharing with each other how different Wallsend is now compared to years gone by. Patsy explained that she once lived in Wallsend and that she often came along the high street, and Bill shared that he used to work in the Swan Hunters Ship Yard. Overall a nice day was had by all.”
