The Laurels Lodge management team was invited by the organisers of this year’s Grampian Dementia Care Conference to speak at a workshop about Dementia Care at Laurels Lodge.
Home Manager Sheila Gesma and Deputy Manager Linda Mason shared good practice on why Dementia Care works well at Laurels Lodge and gave examples of the many ways they have enhanced the environment for the benefit of residents.
They also talked about the FSHC Dementia Care Framework and how effective this has been for colleagues, relatives and external MDTs.
The workshop was well attended and very positive feedback received.
Home Manager Sheila Gesma said:
"It was an honour and a great privilege for myself and Linda to be invited to conduct a workshop at this year’s Dementia Care Conference in Grampian.
"When we made our presentation, it wasn’t that difficult because we spoke from our experiences and practices in the home. Getting opportunities like this makes me feel that we are doing something right at Laurels Lodge."
