Laurels Lodge attend music and dementia event

Aberdeen City Council Wellbeing Team organised a musical event at the Lemon Tree Performing Arts Centre for people living with dementia, and invited along a group from Laurels Lodge Care Home.

Entertainment included a singer with a repetoire of familiar songs from the past, which had residents singing along, and they also enjoyed a performance from a local choir.

Residents Irene, Sandra, Evie and Margaret loved the show and even got up to have a dance with Laurels Lodge staff members and organisers of the event. All four appeared to have really enjoyed the event, chatting and mingling comfortably with the other participants and visitors, and they were also treated to a lovely lunch followed by tea & coffee and cakes.

On leaving the Lemon Tree, residents thanked the staff for a good day out, which left them all in great spirits.
