Remembrance Day is an important time of year in our care homes, particularly as many residents have a personal connection to those who have served in the Armed Forces.
We make a particular effort to commemorate our veterans and honour their sacrifices. Through creating beautiful displays and visiting local sites of remembrance, we have been making space for conversations around the topic.

Riverside Court Care Home
Everyone got stuck in to our arts and craft session to create our Remembrance Day display.

Maple Lodge Care Home
There was a joint effort to make wooden soldier figures for the garden, with our gardener cutting out the shapes and residents painting them black. They were placed outside the home with poppies to commemorate our fallen soldiers.

Redwell Hills Care Home
We visited the church next door to pay our respects to the veterans who have lost their lives.

Residents visited our local war memorial to lay down a wreath in honour of those who fought.

We felt privileged to welcome members of the Royal British Legion into our home to lead a Remembrance service for residents.
