We have more than a few Liverpool FC fans living here at Croxteth Park Care Home and have built a great relationship with the LFC Foundation.
Recently, we were delighted to welcome former player, Ian Callaghan MBE, who played 857 games for Liverpool and also played in the 1966 World Cup. Ian was accompanied by former LFC goalkeeper, Chris Kirkland.
Our local heroes brought along one of the six European Cups the club has won over the years and Ian passed around his World Cup medal so we could all have a closer look.
Resident, Arthur, said: “I’ve followed Liverpool FC throughout my life and football has kept me going during hard times. Meeting the players has made my day!”
Magic Moments Coordinator, Emma, said: “This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for our residents to meet their heroes. Ian and Chris brought back a lot of happy memories while chatting with us all and we’d like to say a huge thank you to them for coming along to our home.”
