Linda Mason nominated for Nurse of the Year Award at Laurels Lodge

Good luck to Linda Mason, Nurse and Deputy Manager at Laurels Lodge Care Home in Aberdeen, who has been nominated for the Nurse of the Year Award in the Scottish Care 2019 Care Home Awards.

Home Manager, Sheila Gesma, nominated Linda for her outstanding contribution and dedication to the home over the last 18 years. She described Linda as having a “heart of gold” and as someone who “is born to be a nurse”.

Linda is also the home’s Dementia Ambassador, and is deeply committed to training other staff members on the Four Seasons Dementia Care Framework. Along with the home manager, Linda delivered an engaging presentation on ‘Why Dementia Care Works Well’ at Laurels Lodge during this year’s Dementia Care Conference in Grampian, which received much positive feedback.

Residents, relatives and other staff members describe Linda as being kind, compassionate, enthusiastic, and always going the extra mile.

One relative said, “Linda is a caring, attentive and approachable nurse, always with a smile and ready to listen. Linda has been a comfort to our family in this hard time”.

A huge thank you to Linda, for all of your hard work and dedication to Laurels Lodge over the last 18 years. You truly embody all of the Four Seasons Health Care Values.
