Professor Martin Green, chief executive of the English Community Care Association recently visited Marlborough Court Care Home in Thamesmead, London. The home has signed up to the Dementia Pledge. This commitment shows that a provider really cares about developing their workforce's understanding of dementia and adapting the service to meet the needs of the person living with dementia. Maggie the Home Manager and Sheilla the Deputy went along to the launch of the Dementia Pledge campaign with Professor Martin on the London Eye. Martin who had been appointed a Professor the day before his visit to the home gave a presentation to staff and quests on Dementia - What makes a difference" The home has appointed Dementia Pledge Champions which includes two relatives. Marlborough Court Care Home is also a finalist in the British Care Awards in April for Best Care Team.
