Mindful of the plight of unwanted pets at Christmas, Northlea Court has been supporting Northumberland Greyhound Rescue, a charity run by volunteers committed to re-homing ex-racing greyhounds.
We all know Christmas can be a difficult time for animals and many unwanted pets are sadly taken to rescue centres to be re-homed both before and after the festive period. Here at Northlea Court Care Home we focus each year on a charity or shelter to support and this year we chose Northumberland Greyhound Rescue, a registered charity run by volunteers who are enthusiastically committed to re-homing ex-racing greyhounds.
For the past month staff, families and residents have been donating items to help make the lives at the shelter a little easier over the busy Christmas period. Staff at the centre were overwhelmed by the volume of goods donated, from food to beds to treats.
Northlea Court would like to say thank you to everyone at the home who has contributed to this fantastic effort.
