Jane Vickers, a carer at Park House Care Home in Wellingborough, has been crowned ‘Senior Carer of the Year’ at the Four Seasons Care Awards.
Jane was commended for her hard work and dedication in ensuring that residents' care needs are met and their wants and wishes fulfilled, as well as leading her team of carers with enthusiasm and encouraging them to make a difference.
Following over 1,300 nominations, Jane was shortlisted with four other colleagues from over 250 Four Seasons Care Homes across the UK.
An extract from her nomination read as follows:
“Jane is a fantastic carer. She has worked at Park House for over 10 years and has had the same passion since day one. Jane has a naturally bubbly and kind personality and this shines through the home when she is working.
“Jane sees the residents as her main priority and will do everything she can to make sure they get the best possible care. Jane has supported relatives by taking them home after her shift so they don’t have to endure the cold weather, and is always there with a shoulder to cry on. She is also the home’s show around champion and does this with excellent professionalism and pride.”
Paul Hayes, Commissioning and Commercial Operations Director for Four Seasons Health Care, presented Jane with her award and said:
"Caring is more than a job, it is a vocation - doing the extraordinary every day - and on behalf of Four Seasons Health Care we thank all of our carers beyond measure for the contribution they make.
"Our Senior Carer of the Year Jane has a shining personality and is always encouraging and supporting those around her, whilst having the empathy and understanding to provide a shoulder to cry on when it's needed.
"Jane has worked at Four Seasons for 20 years and has quietly, compassionately and professionally been a consistent part of the Senior Care Team at two of our homes, making a huge difference to the lives of our residents and their families. She thoroughly deserves this recognition."
Congratulations Jane from everyone at Four Seasons Health Care on a fantastic achievement!
