Priory Park's Audrey knits for St Thomas's premature baby appeal

Priory Park Care Home in Preston answered an appeal from St Thomas's Hospital in London for small knitted rectangles.

These rectangles are used for premature babies. One is placed in the incubator for the baby to lie on and another is given to each parent. These are then swopped over to allow the parents and baby to bond through scent when the baby is too poorly to be held.

When the home's Activities Coordinator Amy explained about the appeal to resident Audrey Mayor, she at once set to work.

Audrey is a keen knitter and has now knitted hundreds of rectangles for the appeal, as well as baby bonnets, and blankets to send to the maternity unit, and she is planning to knit tops and booties next.

Well done to Audrey on a fabulous contribution to this important appeal.
