Retail therapy and big bugs on Hallgarth shopping trip!

The sun came out and so did residents at Hallgarth Care Home, heading off on their bus for some retail therapy at the Metrocentre in Gateshead.

With lists in hand everyone set off to make their purchases, and hopefully bag some bargains. It also turned out that they had visited on the day of the 'Big Bug Hunt' - which had brought along lots of groups of school children hunting for very large insects scattered all around the centre.

The children weren't frightened in the slightest by the enormous critters; the residents on the other hand preferred to give them a wide berth and not get too close to a six foot hornet ready to fly!

After a good day's shopping, a lovely lunch, ice cream, coffee and cake it was time to head off home. As they left they found there weren't too many cars left in the car park; the Hallgarth residents are a hardy lot and can out-shop anyone and everyone!
