Staff in the Intermediate Care Service on Brackenbed View at Pellon Care Centre in Halifax were touched to receive a compliement from a former patient, Dorothy, and her daughter, who said how kind, caring and attentive the staff were.
They also wanted to say that as a result of the care team's patience and support, Dorothy was able to go and do her supermarket shopping with support of her walking trolley ten days after going home;. This was in stark contrast to the situation prior to her admission to Brackenbed View, when she had not been able to mobilise.
As a result the whole Brackenbed View team was awarded a ROCK (Recognition of Care and Kindness) award, which Home Manager Monica Thorpe describes as "truly well deserved."
Here is the team (see attached photograph) led by Unit Manager Louise Holmes receiving their award.
