Having celebrated St Patrick's Day in style, Hallgarth Care Home thought it was only right to do the same for St George, even though England's patron saint is famously Turkish!
Red and white were the order of the day, with flags flying high alongside hand-drawn pictures of St George in full armour about to do battle with the dragon - created by the ever-imaginative Hallgarth Art Club!
Entertainer John Royce was the star of the show, arriving in full regalia and despite the heat remaining in costume for the full afternoon. His songs took everyone on a wonderful nostalgic journey through the 1950's and 60s, including tunes from Cliff Richard, Neil Diamond and Roy Orbison and he even worked in topical number with 'Puff the Magic Dragon.'
Here is resident Elizabeth pictured with 'St George'. She took such a shine to the dragon hat that she wore it with pride all afternoon!
A lovely day - and thank you to John Royce for his excellent humour and spirit thoroughout his visit - it really was great fun.
