The team and residents at The Cedars and Larches Care Home in Ilkeston have been doing their very best recently to make a real difference in their community.
They’ve done a number of charity events which as seen them donate money to organisations, food, toys and blankets to a local dg charity. Their latest venture sees them helping local women who have found themselves without a home and living on the streets.
Personal Activities Leader, Alison Richards, explained: “We’ve been collecting handbags that we’re filling with personal items, for example, socks, vests, sanitary products, soap, toothbrushes etc to support those ladies who find themselves living on the streets. There has been a huge drive to do this, and when Rachel Kirkpatrick, the local co-ordinator for this initiative came to collect the bags she was stunned by the amount we had. I want to thank everyone who donated to this worthy cause, and helping us to make a difference in our local community.”
