Residents from The Oaks and Little Oaks Care Home in Newark enjoyed a number of outings over the festive period.
Firstly, they were served a lovely Christmas dinner by students from the Newark Academy. The residents from the home were joined by other people living in care homes in the area. This event was organised and staffed by pupils in Year 11 whilst teachers cooked the lunch. The guests played bingo and were treated to a singing performance by sisters Sophie and Emily who are in the school choir.
Other residents were treated to a Christmas dinner and a concert when they went to The Tawny Owl for their annual Christmas dinner. Whilst they were dining, children from Chuter Ede Primary School sang a number of carols.
Christine Mills, Home Manager, said: “The residents enjoyed the festive period. Food and carols is only a small section of the activities they’ve enjoyed, but it’s always nice to see them getting out and involved in their communities.”
