Therapy doll is new addition at Croxteth Park

Residents at Croxteth Park Care Home in Liverpool have been kept entertained by all of the activities provided by the activities coordinator and the rest of the team at the home.

Not a day goes by without an activity. Whether this is a friendly game of bingo, a topical quiz, an afternoon of board games, arts and crafts afternoons, domino championships or entertainment and dancing, residents always have something to look forward to.

The home has recently invested in some therapy dolls to further help engage with the residents who live with dementia.

Lisa Kent, Home Manager said: “The doll is very effective as it can soothe and comfort our residents who have dementia. They love spending time caring for them and talking to them. One member of the team has brought in a cradle, and the residents place the dolls there when they need a rest. It really is lovely to see how something so small can have such a huge impact on the residents and make a difference to their day to day lives.”
