When the residents at Whitefield Lodge Care Home in Glasgow received a donation of books from their Local Advocacy Service, it spurred them on to have their very own book group.
Angela Martin, Home Manager, said: “On behalf of everyone here at Whitefield Lodge I want to thank the Local Advocacy Service for donating the books to us, as part of the World Book Night initiative. Residents, relatives and the care team all got together to read the books before having a chat about them over a cup of coffee and a cake.
“Everyone is now holding a regular reading groups with trips to the local library becoming more popular as residents look for the next great read. Everyone is looking forward to discussing the next book with a coffee and a cake.”
