Celebrating a century!
In our homes we help residents to make memorable moments special, such as milestone birthdays. Some residents are visited by family and friends or enjoy a trip out, while others celebrate in the home with other residents and colleagues, music and tasty treats.
With less than 2 weeks left to go until Christmas, today’s Winter Warmer is all about the wonderful residents who turned an amazing 100 years old this year!
Here’s Sheila, a resident at Gotton Manor in Taunton with her 100th birthday letter from the queen. The home’s team and residents joined Sheila in celebrating the big day.
Ken, a resident at Oaktree care home in Bristol celebrated his 100th birthday this year and was even featured in the local Gazette.
Sam, a resident at Riverside View care home in Darlington had a wonderful 100th birthday with his family celebrating in the home.
Here’s Muriel, a resident at Carnalea care home in Bangor who enjoyed a very chocolatey birthday cake with her family.
Betty at Nightingale Care Home in Dungannon joined in activities with other residents and was featured in local paper, the Tyrone Courier. Here she is with postman receiving her letter from the queen.
Mabel celebrated her 100th birthday in style with two parties - one with our residents at Old Vicarage care home then again Saturday with her family and friends. Mabel really enjoyed both days and was singing with the entertainer Alex Johns.
Elizabeth had an exciting 100 birthday celebration at Whiteabbey care home with a party, flowers and lots of lovely decorations.
Lillian had a wonderful 100th birthday at Balmoral care home celebrating with a party and games night including musical quizzes and bingo for all the residents.
Rose has been a resident at Bebington care home in Birkenhead for 6 years. The staff went all out to make sure her 100th birthday was extra special - arranging for the hairdresser to come in, a new outfit and planned the day to make sure it fitted with her routine. Her family came and thanked the staff for all their hard work.
Lil, a resident at Lyfords care home in East Sussex enjoyed her 100th Birthday celebration with a party and flowers.
And finally, here’s Kitty who celebrated her 101 birthday in February! Brimington care home threw her a grand celebration with lots of treats for the residents and was visited from her family.
We look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with residents and making them a day to remember!
