A magical winter wonderland for residents at Aspen Lodge
The team at Aspen Lodge in Skegness went above and beyond to create this magical winter wonderland in the home’s garden for residents to enjoy.
Maintenance man Phil said: “I joined the team last Christmas and when I found out there hadn’t been any outdoor lights, I decided to personally take on the challenge. I managed to get lights using some of the residents fund and kind donations from the community.
This year I had more time to plan the display and make it even bigger and better! I re-used the lights from last year adding lighting strings, tree, rope light and coloured laser projectors.
At teatime on the 5th of December we had a ‘lighting switch on extravaganza’ organised by Care Assistant Dawn which residents attended a good festive time was had by all.”
Commenting on the display, residents said:
“I love sitting in my chair and looking at the lights – they’re magical” Peter
“Seeing the Christmas tree lit up at night brightens up my evening” Doreen
“We wanted to help so donated the reindeer and absolutely love how the garden looks, it's stunning!” Husband and wife Ken and Pat
