Jim and Care Assistant Carol chat about being ‘country folk’
Our homes are filled with stories and today’s Winter Warmer demonstrates how our colleagues get to know residents, discover some of their life stories and help each person to feel part of the ‘family’.
Jim has been a resident at Lammermuir Care Home in Dunbar since December 2015 when he moved in from the local area.
While chatting to Care Assistant Carol, they discovered that with both being ‘local country folk’ they had lots of mutual connections including that their relatives who used to play bowls together, which have really bonded the pair.
Discussing life in the home, Jim says his favourite things are “the carers, the food and the beautiful sea-side views” from the window in his room. Jim enjoys a traditional Scottish meal of haggis and tatties and agrees with Carol that the key to a good haggis is whisky!
Situated on a stunning beach front, residents at Lammermuir care home can take seaside walks when it’s nice weather or relax and take in the views from the living room or their bedroom. Jim thinks his view is one of the best.
