Residents are having a hair-tastic time!
We’ve been busy accommodating requests from residents in our homes - because you’re never too old to switch your style! And what better time to experiment with a funky new do than at Christmas.
So for today’s Winter Warmer, here are some stories from our salons which are sure to make you smile.
Shawcross care home in Wigan
Resident Cath regularly visits the salon and last week told colleagues that she would like her hair pink at her next hairdressers visit! The team decided a wash-in wash-out mousse would be the best option incase she changes her mind. Cath said she is “over the moon” with the result.
Ty Eirin care home in Porth
Anita has been a hairdresser at Ty Eirin care home for the past 20 years and loves to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere in the salon. While styling residents hair, Anita chats with residents and plays music so they can have a sing song.
Everyone is welcome at the salon, which is open 2 days a week, whether residents are having their hair done or not, with some enjoying just sitting and listening with a cup of tea or coffee.
Ty Eirin resident and social butterfly Megan has a fond relationship with Anita so enjoys helping in the salon after having her hair done!
The Vale care home in Chesterfield
Here, lovely resident Edna is enjoying one of her regular visits to the salon for a pampering session and cut and blow with hairdresser Paul. Looking fabulous Edna!
