Fiona McKenna, Care Assistant at Cumbrae Lodge Care Home in Irvine has successfully completed her Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ) Level 2 in Social Services and Health Care.
SVQs are based on national standards which are drawn up by people from industry, commerce and education. They are badges or benchmarks of competence, so they work as a guarantee that someone who holds an SVQ can do the job the qualification covers.
Victor Dewson, Regional Manager for Glasgow and Clyde, said: “I want to congratulate Fiona on her hard work. Employers are very aware of SVQs and appreciate their value. Here at Four Seasons we’d always encourage and our teams to do all they can to up skill themselves and we’d support them through the process.”
Michelle Cushnaghan, Home Manager, said: “I’m very proud of Fiona. She’s worked really hard and thoroughly deserves this recognition. The skills she has learnt will further enhance the care she gives to the residents here at Cumbrae Lodge, which from what I can see is an added bonus, as the team here are already doing a fantastic job.”
