Welcome to Red Rose Care Home
Red Rose is a purpose-built home at the heart of the community, making it easy to stay involved with the local amenities - which includes a leisure centre.
Our lovely home has a resident's kitchen to allow rehabilitation, a dedicated activity room and lovingly tended gardens with stunning views.
At Red Rose, residents are considered part of the family. We put their health and happiness at the heart of everything we do, and our dedicated team of nurses and carers actively encourage residents to take part in all decisions - contributing to everything from the way their rooms look to the therapies they receive.
Life at Red Rose Care Home
Our activities coordinator takes time to explore the preferences of every new resident and match their preferences to the range of possibilities we offer.
Every week we arrange bingo, quizzes and arts and crafts sessions, while members of the local church are regular guests. If you enjoy getting out and about, our regular excursions will be a particular highlight.
My mother has been twice before and she loves it there. She thinks the staff and food are wonderful. She is booked in again for May.

On Monday 27th March 2017 Four Seasons scooped the ‘Flu Fighter Social Care Award’ at the prestigious Flu Fighter awards.
The Flu Fighter award celebrate the great achievements of flu teams and organisations who promote the importance of flu vaccinations to everyone in their organisation.
Four Seasons was shortlisted for the ‘Social Care Award’ after being nominated following the success of the internal Flu and You campaign. Before being presented with the award, Daniel Mortimer, Chief Executive for NHS Employers said: “Four Seasons Heath Care launched its campaign with the goal of reducing the occurrence of flu in its colleagues. They created leaflets and flu packs that provided details about the importance of the flu vaccination and how to get vaccinated. This worked really well and they had an extra 1,600 colleagues vaccinated, which increased uptake by 22% this season. Well done.”

A Garden City care home has scored around 98% overall performance rating in a national survey of people living in care homes. Red Rose Care Home scored 982 points from a possible maximum of 1,000 in the survey for “Your Care Rating" making it the number one performing home in Wales.
The overall performance rating is derived from four core themes: staff and care, home comforts, choice and having a say and the quality of life being experienced by the residents.
The home, which is operated by Four Seasons Health Care, also scored the maximum possible 100% satisfaction rating for quality of care and 100% for people saying they are happy with life in the home.
The independent confidential survey was conducted by leading market research organisation Ipsos MORI.
Red Rose achieved over 99% or 997 out of 1,000 around the theme of the quality of life for people living in the home.
The home also scored the maximum possible 100% rating for being safe and secure and for the care team treating residents with kindness, dignity and respect. All respondents said that the care team understand them as an individual, are sensitive to how they are feeling and are capable of providing the care they need.
It scored 100% for the choice of meals offered and for the quality of food served. It also scored 100% for offering activities for residents to take part in if they want.
John Kirk, Managing Director for Four Seasons Health Care in Wales, who run the home, said: "All the care team are delighted that in this independent national survey the residents at Red Rose rated the home so highly.
"The survey outcome corresponds with the responses we have had directly from residents, their relatives and care professionals who are able to give us instant feedback on a day to day basis about any aspect of care quality, by using iPads placed in the home with a touch-screen questionnaire linked to purpose designed software. This has been recording a 94% overall customer satisfaction rating.”

We’ll be launching the 2017 Four Seasons Care Awards in the summer. In the meantime, we thought it would be nice to catch up with some of the winners of last year’s awards, to see what it’s been like since they’ve gone back to the floor.
This week we’ll be focusing on Sheena Walker, a member of the Learning and Development Team in Scotland who won the Central Support Team Member accolade.
Sheena is definitely a force to be reckoned with in Scotland, and her passion for helping others develop in their health care career is something to be admired. That’s why when she won the Central Support Team Member of the Year award she was surprised and over whelmed.
“It was a little bit intimidating receiving so much recognition,” explains Sheena. “It is nice to be recognised, but for me it’s not a job. I am very passionate about nursing. I was a nurse myself for a long time. I want to nurture and grow this passion in others who embark on their own nursing journey.”
Since winning the award Sheena has been continuing to support and develop Four Seasons colleagues in Scotland as they complete their Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ).
Sheena is a very humble lady. John Kirk, Managing Director for Scotland, Wales and the Isle of Man had this to say about her. “Sheena is a fantastic lady, and a great asset for us to have up here in Scotland. The support she provides her colleagues to help them progress through qualifications is second to none. I’m glad she’s been recognised in this way.”
