Rosemount, in Whitely Bay''s West Monkseaton area, is a relaxing care home with plenty of social spaces - as well as quiet corners - where residents can relax and be themselves.
We put the health and happiness of residents at the heart of everything we do, and our dedicated team of nurses and carers actively encourage them to take part in all decisions - contributing to everything from the way their rooms look to the therapies they receive.
We have four lounges, two of them ''quiet'' rooms, and two dining rooms, all with large windows. Our two courtyards and patio area have robust garden furniture, and there''s a heated conservatory from which to enjoy the views come rain or shine. There''s even a small kitchen where residents can make their own drinks and really feel part of the family.

Residents are welcome to enjoy our varied programme of activities, quiet time and one-to-one time - and family members and friends can join in too.
We have an entertainer each month, plus film afternoons. Christine the hairdresser visits weekly, while Daniel the podiatrist pops in every six to eight weeks.
I feel at home when I visit my mother and feel confident that she is being well looked after, I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else.
The manager will always spend time taking to you and will help you with any problems you have. I would recommend the home to anyone
Excellent communications on progress and condition. The staff are very friendly and my mum is content.
I can walk in to the Home and feel comfortable. Everybody is always so friendly. It just feels like going to my mums house and I don't worry about going home.
The food is very good and if there is nothing on the menu I like an alternative is always offered. There are snacks and drinks available whenever I want one.
I am always informed of any changes to my mothers care or condition. Its gives me great peace of mind to know she is well cared for

Four Seasons Health Care picked up three accolades on Tuesday 5th December 2017 at the Training Journal (TJ) Awards. Winning three categories meant that Four Seasons Health Care led the way, as they were the only organisation to win in multiple categories.
Who were the winners?
The Dementia Care Framework won the ‘Best Change Management Programme’, which is a fantastic achievement and further highlights the positive impact this is having on the lives of people living in Four Seasons homes with dementia.
The Judges commented: “We recognise Four Health Care work in the field of dementia care as innovative and thorough in its approach, being both effective and transformative. It had a bold vision that was well executed in a challenging environment.”
The Care Home Nursing Journal (CNJ), Four Seasons’ very own internal publication to develop nurse knowledge and share best practice won its category of ‘Best Organisational Development Programme'.
The Judges commented: “The design of this intervention, which on the surface appears very simple, completely meets the needs of the organisation and has had significant impact. A particular strength was that Four Seasons Health Care decided to make these resources freely available to anyone, making the impact even greater and is improving healthcare outcomes in care homes everywhere.”
Finally, Louise Morris the Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAP) Lead won the main award of the night and was crowned the ‘Learning and Development Professional of the Year’.
The Judges stated: “Louise has had a transformational impact, not only on the learning and development of staff at Four Seasons Health Care, but also on the well-being of residents. Through a review of an existing programme, Louise drove design and improvement which has had significant benefits through improved care, staff practice and confidence and commitment to their work and professional development.”

As the witching hour struck, Four Seasons homes across the UK were welcoming their own witches, warlocks, vampires and mummies for tea.
Although nobody went our trick or treating, our residents got up to a lot of spooktacular behaviour to celebrate the day, with the odd sweet treat thrown in every now and then.
Our care teams pulled out all of the stops to transform the homes from lovely warm environments, to something Casper would be happy to haunt.
In Whitley Bay, residents at Rosemount Care Home enjoyed a gruesome Halloween party.
Sue Atkinson, Home Manager, said: “The team really got into the Halloween spirit. Everyone had a great time. It was fun to see how everyone embraced the witching hour.”

Rosemount Care Home in Whitley Bay has been accredited for a pioneering dementia care approach.
The care team at Rosemount Care Home is celebrating being accredited for a radically different approach of care for people living with dementia.
The Dementia Care Framework is a unique step forward in the personalisation of care for people living with dementia. The care team uses exclusive purpose-designed technology to help build and continuously update a picture of each resident’s individual experience of their care and their physical, psychological and emotional well-being, so that their care can be adjusted to their changing needs.
The pioneering home is part of Four Seasons Health Care which spent two years developing and testing the new approach. The home hosted a beach themed party on the 21st July 2017 for care commissioners, other health and social care professionals and relatives to introduce the Dementia Care Framework to them.
Jacky Reed, Acting Managing Director for Four Seasons in the North East of England said: “This is next generation dementia care to make life better for the person with dementia and we are excited to offer it. A vital part of the Framework is the bespoke support and training the team throughout the home receives with additional support and training for those, working within our dementia services. This goes beyond the practicalities of caring for someone with dementia and through simulation gives them a deeper understanding of what it is like to live with dementia.”
At the heart of the Dementia Care Framework is a personal care review process which is continuously updated electronically by care staff to give a comprehensive and current picture of each resident.
Thought to be the first of its type worldwide, it is based on 320 recognised standards, including NICE Guidelines (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) and Alzheimer’s Society best practice guidance. It replaces paper-based audits that are slow and almost always behind the changing care needs of the person.
The resident and family charters were developed in consultation with residents, family members, health and social care professionals and care teams, taking account of over 400 comments.
The resident charter sets out their rights, the standards of care they can expect and commitment to provide for their personal needs and preferences.
The family charter, sets out the support that they can expect to receive and how they can input to planning their relative’s care.
Only when a home achieves key standards within the Dementia Care Framework does it receive Four Seasons Accreditation for the quality of its dementia care.
