Frequently Asked Questions - Visiting a Resident
The welfare and safety of residents and colleagues is our number one priority and we recognise that those living in care homes remain vulnerable to COVID-19. However, regular contact with loved ones is an important factor in the lives of our residents and their families and so we are following a cautious approach to supporting visits to our homes.
All visitors are asked to follow our Visitor Protocol, which includes a declaration on arrival, use of PPE and social distancing measures. The Home’s Visitor Champion will welcome all visitors and support the visit to be successful.
Frequently Asked Questions About Visiting a Resident
Who can visit?
At this time, the visits are restricted to one person member of the family or one friend per visit each week. Unfortunately children and animals are not allowed.
In Scotland and Northern Ireland, we are supporting two visitors per visit when taking place outside.
When can I come and visit?

Can my relative / friend have a visit from me?
We support all residents have receive visits from family and friends.
How many visits can my relative receive each week?
Each resident can have one visit per week wherever possible. Further visits will be by exception only and agreed by the Home Manager in advance.
How long can I visit for?
In England, each visit will be 30 minutes in length. In Scotland and Northern Ireland, the visit will be a maximum of one hour in length.
How do I book my visit?

This new online booking system enables the teams to manage visiting as effectively as possible, and also allows you, as the visitor, an easy to use system to organise your visits. Each home displays the dates and times of available visiting sessions
How far in advance can I book my visit?
You can book your visit 4 weeks in advance.
How do I know if my visit is booked?
On booking you will receive a confirmation email.
What do I do if I need to change or cancel my booked visit?
You can change or cancel your booked visit by clicking the details on your confirmation email.
What do I need to do when visiting?
All visits are supported by our Visitor Champions. You will be asked to follow our current Visitor Protocol which will include a declaration on arrival, having your temperature taken, the use of PPE and following social distancing measures throughout your visit.
