Avonmead Care Home has a team of registered nurses and a well trained care team, with the support of the ancillary staff and admin they provide an excellent standard of 24hr care.
Avonmead Care Home is near to the market town of Devizes in Wiltshire. It is a purpose built home and is 14 ½ years old. The home is conveniently situated within an attractive housing estate and the garden has a patio overlooking the Kennet and Avon Canal where the annual Devizes to Westminster canoe race happens every Easter.
We have 2 large lounges, 1 quiet lounge and 2 dining rooms for residents to enjoy. All rooms are en-suite and we have 4 double rooms suitable for couples. All rooms have television and phone points.
Lifestyle and Activities
We have a dedicated activities co-ordinator and we hold coffee mornings twice a week where families and neighbours are welcome. We are able to visit the market twice a month and residents enjoy regular quizzes, cards and games. We also regularly celebrate the international days of our staff and our talented chef caters for individual anniversary or birthday special dinners. We have a church service weekly and we also hold reminiscence sessions.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of individual library choices. The PAT (Pets As Therapy) dog visits are extremely popular Residents also enjoy regular concerts which are held throughout the year and visits from local groups such as brownies.
