What Our Customers Say
Everyone treated him with respect and kindness and fairly good humour, which I know he appreciated more than words can express. He enjoyed the concert very much and it gave me a good deal of pleasure to see him having such a good laugh!
We think Ken was the most settled and happiest in the past 12 months. Our minds were settled knowing he was so well cared for.
All the staff make the stay (respite) so smooth. They are all a credit to the caring profession.
We could not have wished for our mam to have spent her final days in the hands of such wonderful staff.
What Our Staff Say
I get a lot of pleasure cooking for our residents and knowing that they have enjoyed what I have made for them. At lunchtime I like to go into the dining rooms to ask how they are enjoying the meal. I will often sit down and have a meal with them.

Harbour View Care HomeWhitehaven, Cumbria
Harbour View Lodge offers 24 hour care from a team of registered nurses and care assistants, many of whom have completed their NVQ’s in health and social care. The staff have experience in caring for people with varied and complex needs either on a long term basis or for short respite stays. Harbour View Lodge is situated in a residential area overlooking the harbour and Whitehaven. It is within easy reach of the shops and other local amenities. All rooms are single en-suite and are fitted with a nurse call system. Communal lounges and dining rooms are bright and airy and enjoy views over the harbour and the Irish Sea. The home has well laid out gardens and residents can enjoy the fresh sea air either sitting in the front garden or on the patio at the rear of the home. All residents are encouraged to personalise their own rooms with mementos from home, they can also choose their own décor and bedding if they want to. The home has a hairdressing room and a therapy room from where activities are based.
Lifestyle and Activities
Everyone who lives in the home is encouraged or assisted to make their own choices. The Activities Organiser works hard to provide a full and varied programme to suit all age groups living in the home. Residents enjoy going out for a look around the shops or for lunch in the local pub. Entertainers often visit the home with a Magician being top favourite, along with local singers and dance / theatre groups. Staff in the home need no excuse to hold a fancy dress day or, weather permitting, a BBQ. The local RC church holds a monthly service in the home and visitors from other denominations visit the home regularly. The local library offers an at-home service where residents receive a bag of books of their choice, or DVDs and they can keep hold of them for several weeks after which time they are collected and a new supply is issued.
