Welcome to Elizabeth Fleming Care Home
You'll find Elizabeth Fleming Care Home in Hetton-Le-Hole, Tyne and Wear.
Here we provide high quality care 24 hours a day. The people who live here have varying needs, from specialist nursing support to general assistance with everyday living.
We offer specialist residential and nursing care for those with dementia, respite care to give home carers a much needed break, and dedicated care for young people with physical disabilities. Some stay with us permanently, others for shorter periods.
Our modern purpose-built care home has a sensory garden, two flower gardens, and substantial grounds ideal for walking. We also have a patio area which is very popular in the summer.
The people who live here pursue their hobbies in communal and quiet lounges throughout the home. These areas are used for relaxing and socialising in, and are great places to invite friends and families to when they visit.
Life at Elizabeth Fleming Care Home
Our dedicated activities coordinator ensures each person living here enjoys a full and varied calendar.
Professional performers come in to entertain residents, and we organise trips to local places of interest including the library, park and the museum.
As supporters of the UK National Dementia Strategy we help ensure key life skills are maintained, building purpose and providing nurture for those with dementia. We organise group and individual activities, but in our experience it's the one-to-one sessions that people find most calming and rewarding.
Mealtimes are an enjoyable and sociable part of the day. Each warm and welcoming dining area has tables laid with fresh flowers and linen, and our menus are displayed to show the choices available. Snacks, fresh fruit and refreshments are provided 24 hours a day.
We have highly nutritious and varied menus, and cater for all dietary and cultural needs. All food is prepared using fresh ingredients every day in our kitchens. Depending on how they feel, each resident can choose to have their meals in their own room, or in our dining room. We encourage friends and family to join us for meals or afternoon tea any time.
The staff at Elizabeth Fleming provide excellent care for residents. There is a very friendly, welcoming and caring environment in which staff, however busy they are, always seem calm. It is a small home and staff are able to know residents well and are aware of their individual needs and preferences. Visitors and families are greeted in a friendly way and everything possible is done to support them. There is always access to the manager and nursing staff if families have issues they want to discuss. When a relative has to go into residential care it is a great comfort to know they are being looked after so well.
I find it just like living at home.
Elizabeth Fleming is fair.
My mother has been a resident in this home for over 7 years. I am completely satisfied with the 24 hour nursing care that she has received during that period. She has on many occasions been a difficult person to deal with both mentally and physically and the staff have coped admirably! My mother will be 103 in July 2015.
It's like a family.
I felt fine, it was good to talk about how I felt.
They are alright. They asked if I am happy and I am happy.
It went good- asked how I was feeling and if I was happy which I am.
The home has a good homely feel. The staff are caring, patient and treat each person as an individual, catering to all their needs, making them feel that it is their home. The meals are good with plenty of snacks in-between. The general feel is that of a big family. The staff are always happy and work together to create a happy family feel.
Good food especially on a Friday its alright here. I've been her for years. I like to look at the gardens.

Four Seasons Health Care picked up three accolades on Tuesday 5th December 2017 at the Training Journal (TJ) Awards. Winning three categories meant that Four Seasons Health Care led the way, as they were the only organisation to win in multiple categories.
Who were the winners?
The Dementia Care Framework won the ‘Best Change Management Programme’, which is a fantastic achievement and further highlights the positive impact this is having on the lives of people living in Four Seasons homes with dementia.
The Judges commented: “We recognise Four Health Care work in the field of dementia care as innovative and thorough in its approach, being both effective and transformative. It had a bold vision that was well executed in a challenging environment.”
The Care Home Nursing Journal (CNJ), Four Seasons’ very own internal publication to develop nurse knowledge and share best practice won its category of ‘Best Organisational Development Programme'.
The Judges commented: “The design of this intervention, which on the surface appears very simple, completely meets the needs of the organisation and has had significant impact. A particular strength was that Four Seasons Health Care decided to make these resources freely available to anyone, making the impact even greater and is improving healthcare outcomes in care homes everywhere.”
Finally, Louise Morris the Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAP) Lead won the main award of the night and was crowned the ‘Learning and Development Professional of the Year’.
The Judges stated: “Louise has had a transformational impact, not only on the learning and development of staff at Four Seasons Health Care, but also on the well-being of residents. Through a review of an existing programme, Louise drove design and improvement which has had significant benefits through improved care, staff practice and confidence and commitment to their work and professional development.”
Congratulations to everyone on this fantastic achievement!

From famous singers to infamous performances it’s a competition where you can usually guarantee there is something for everyone.
