Welcome to Lansdowne Care Home
You'll find Lansdowne Care Home in Cricklewood, north-west London. Here our experienced nurses, care assistants and key workers provide high quality 24-hour care in the range from general nursing to nursing dementia. We look after people with very high dependency nursing needs, and also provide palliative care.
Most residents live at the home permanently but we also offer respite care. We always promote independence and respect people's dignity and choice.
Ours is a welcoming, comfortable, safe purpose-built home, with big gorgeous gardens, including a beautifully landscaped sensory garden with raised beds of plants and flowers. At Lansdowne we organise activities for residents with dementia, who can enter and leave this space as they wish when the weather is good.
Inside, there are bright and spacious corridors and lounges. Each of our three units has its own dining room. All bedrooms are singles with en-suites. We love residents to personalise these spaces to make them more familiar and homely.
Life at Lansdowne Care Home
Our personal activities coordinators organise and encourage pastimes, diversions and entertainment in the home. They ensure residents continue to enjoy what they've been doing before, and remain stimulated and engaged.
Our weekly activity programme includes reading sessions, group exercises, quizzes, bingo, foot spas, handicrafts, painting, drawing, one-to-one sessions, and concerts and entertainment.
We also organise local trips to nearby St Agnes Club where we do Tai Chi, to Kenwood House, and to Brent Cross shopping centre.
We celebrate residents' birthdays with a party at the end of each month. There's an entertainer for the day and families are invited.
We also produce a monthly newsletter to share our activities information with other homes, and with relatives so they can join their loved ones.
Our menu changes every four weeks so residents always have new, tasty options to choose from. Food is home-cooked by chefs on the premises.

As delayed transfers of care remain at record highs, how can we reduce unnecessary hospital stays for older people? That was the key question at an HSJ event held in association with Four Seasons Health Care.
The roundtable heard that the healthcare system often finds reasons not to deal with care home residents and looked at the success of an innovative collaboration between the NHS and care homes in Belfast.
With a collaborative approach between care homes and the NHS, older people are able to leave hospital and receive expert care, whilst assessing whether their long term future would be in their current home or a local care home. “The idea is that it would provide short term rehabilitation in conjunction with the two trusts in that area. The joint partnerships with the trusts I’ve worked with have just been amazing, and that’s what makes it work”, explained Janice Brown, Four Seasons’ regional manager for the Belfast and Newtownabbey area.
In addition to the improvements from a collaborative solution, South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust reported that the joint partnership approach of providing a bed in a care home reduced their yearly cost by more than half.

A local care home has scored over almost 98% overall performance rating in a national survey of people living in care homes. Lansdowne Care Home, in Cricklewood, scored 972 points from a possible maximum of 1,000 in the survey for “Your Care Rating”.
The overall performance rating is derived from four core themes: staff and care, home comforts, choice and having a say and the quality of life being experienced by the residents.
The independent confidential survey was conducted by leading market research organisation Ipsos MORI.
The home, which is operated by Four Seasons Health Care, also scored 99% satisfaction with quality of care and 100% for respondents being happy with life in the home.
The home achieved the maximum possible 100% rating for being safe and secure and for the care team treating residents with kindness, dignity and respect. All respondents said that the care team understand them as an individual, are sensitive to how they are feeling and are capable of providing the care they need.
The home scored over 98% or 982 out of 1,000 around the theme of the quality of life for people living in the home.
It scored 100% among respondents for the choice of meals offered and 99% for offering activities for residents to take part in if they want.
Marjorie Condacos, Regional Managing Director for Four Seasons Health Care, who run the home, said: "All the care team are delighted that in this independent national survey the residents at Lansdowne rated the home so highly.
"The survey outcome corresponds with the responses we have had directly from residents, their relatives and care professionals who are able to give us instant feedback on a day to day basis about any aspect of care quality, by using iPads placed in the home with a touch-screen questionnaire linked to purpose designed software. This has been recording a 100% overall customer satisfaction rating.”
The home is rated as good by the Care Quality Commission.
