Jessie Dowson, a resident at East Riding Care Home in Morpeth celebrated her 100th birthday earlier this month.
The centenarian celebrated with residents, relatives and the team.
Kirsty Crozier, Home Manager said: “A lovely day was had by all to celebrate Jessie’s big birthday. She even received a card from the Queen. The home spared no expense and decorated the lounge with balloons and bunting to get the party atmosphere going. Happy birthday again Jessie.”
The Morpeth Heard also attended Jessie’s birthday party and spoke to her about her life and how it felt to be 100. During the interview Jessie also spoke about her and her husband Gordon’s love story, how fate brought them together after a misunderstanding threatened to tear them apart.
