Amethyst House resident shares memories with school pupil for a project

As part of a project in a local school called ‘Street Detectives’, a pupil visited Amethyst House Care Home in Doncaster to interview one of the residents and find out everything they knew about the local area. Kian Bush, son of Home Administrator Sally, spent some time at the home with resident Jessie to discover some facts about Rossington.

Jessie Henshaw is aged 99 and full of information so she was a perfect candidate for Kian to interview. She told him all about the memories she had growing up in the area and some very interesting facts. Kian really enjoyed interviewing Jessie and said that “She knows so much!” – Jessie expressed how it was her pleasure to help.

Sally Bush, Home Administrator, has invited all of Kian’s class at the school to visit the grounds at Amethyst House as part of their project as it is a Grade II listed building, and also was once home to the Home Guards during the war.
