Brimington says 'Yabba Dabba Do' for Care Home Open Day

Brimington Care Home in Chesterfield held a fancy dress party to celebrate Care Home Open Day.

“Some of the attendees would be more suited to Bedrock than Brimington, but their ingenuity had the residents in fits of laughter,” said Josephine Jackson the Home Manager. “Everyone had a great day joining in the singing and the dancing. Someone came as a banana, who’s party trick was to do the splits, the residents loved shouting banana splits all afternoon.

“We had a raffle and tombola at the event and managed to raise £296 to sponsor Catherine Smith’s Three Peak Challenge next month. Good luck Catherine.”

Care Home Open Day is a UK wide initiative inviting care homes to open their doors to their local communities. Events like the one at Brimington Care Home will help to create lasting links between the residents and their local community.

Care Home Open Day is all about showing people what care homes are really about and how they can be at the centre of the local community, developing relationships across the generations.
