Residents from Burgess Park Care Home in Camberwell enjoyed a trip through time, as they attended a tea dance held at Sacred Heart Secondary School.
The residents spent time with the students, swapping stories over lunch, reminiscing about the ‘good old days’ and commenting on how different things are for young people now. Some of them even had a little jig.
Home Manager Joyce Small said: “Getting the residents out and about helps them to keep in touch with the community they grew up in, and spent time in before they moved to Burgess Park. The residents had a ball at the tea dance, and enjoyed swapping stories with the students. I don’t think either generation could quite believe the difference between growing up now, and growing up in the likes of the 1920s.”
