It was all go at Beech House Care Home in Barton-upon-Humber last week with residents taking part in different activities, meaning no two days are ever the same.
Alison Hudspeth-Lamb, Home Manager explains: “Monday started off with a competitive edge with residents pitted against one another as the dominoes championship got underway. It was a closely fought contest, however there could only be one winner on the day. Congratulations Betty! Let’s see if you can hold onto your crown when the next championship starts.
“Things were a little more serene on Tuesday as we were joined by French Bulldog Darcy. After flashing her puppy dog eyes, Darcy had won everyone over. However all of the playing and attention got too much for her and she ended up going for a snooze on one of the resident’s beds. You could hear her snoring down the corridor!
“Once Darcy had left, the residents were then entertained by a local singer, who got them all up and dancing after their afternoon tea and scones.
“Wednesday saw the lovely ladies from the church come in and conduct a service for the residents. Everyone enjoyed it and all sang their hearts out when it was time for the hymns.
“It was the Grand National at the weekend, and we ran a small sweepstake at the home. Thankfully the horses came in for some of us. I’m looking forward to seeing what the next few weeks bring.”
