Residents and the team at Cypress Court Care Home in Crewe entered a local competition ran by the council in which they had to create a Christmas card based on their local area. The residents got stuck in and made some fantastic cards which were runners up in the competition.
After hearing about the competition, the residents and team couldn’t wait to get creating their cards. As most are local to the area, the theme of Crewe and Nantwich gave them tonnes of ideas and things to include in their designs. The judges were extremely impressed and awarded them as runners up. They were invited for tea and biscuits at the Town Hall where they were joined by Edward Timpson, MP for Crewe. They received a bauble of the House of Commons to display on the tree at the home.
Karen Cullen, Home Manager, told us “This was a lovely competition to take part in over Christmas. It got the residents talking and sharing their memories of Crewe and Nantwich whilst they decided what to put on the cards. They were also delighted to meet Edward Timpson and had a lovely afternoon at the Town Hall”.
