Heat wave sparks desert island art in Durham

With the heat of the summer, thoughts at Hallgarth Care Home in Durham went to tropical islands and beautiful sunsets.

Angela Muir, Home Manager, explains: “The Hallgarth Art Club all came together to create some lovely masterpieces. With their choice of Desert Island Discs playing in the background, residents chatted about who or what they would take to their very own desert island.

“We all painted our minds eye view of the setting sun from our tropical paradise. The paintings turned out beautifully and we’ll frame them and pop them on our walls with the rest of the art collection.

“I want to say well done to Norma, Grace, Margaret, Joan, Jean, Ruth, Ray, Shirley, Keith Helen and Anne who created the beautiful pieces of art.”
