Residents at Hartwell Care Home in Sheffield spent the day monkeying around as they celebrated World Animal Day.
World Animal Day is celebrated on Tuesday 4th October each year and aims to raise the status of animals to improve their welfare standards around the globe, making the world a better place for them.
Indulging in a bit of alternative pet therapy, residents enjoyed turning themselves into some much loved animals before getting hands on with some creepy crawlies.
Maria Whittaker, Home Manager, said: “Everyone had a great day. The residents enjoyed getting hands on with the snakes, snails, lizards and spiders. Some of the team weren’t too keen mind, and hid under their animal masks. There was a huge sigh of relief once the tarantula was put away.”
