It was a right royal knees up in London on Saturday 2nd July 2016 as service users from Holybourne Day Centre in Roehampton attended a Kings and Queens event organised by the Church and Regenerate RISE.
Christine Smith, Day Centre Manager, explained: “The event is specifically catered for older people in the local borough. Everyone at Holybourne went to the event, and had a fantastic time. We all enjoyed lunch before the musical entertainment got us up on our feet dancing the afternoon away.
“The event focused on the Queen’s 90th birthday, and it was nice for everyone to have a good old knees up to celebrate Her Majesty’s special day.”
Mo Smith, from Regenerate RISE said: “It’s a free banquet for older people in Roehampton, and SW15, to say thank you for all your contributions to the community throughout the years.
“People wanted to treat them like kings and queens, so we gave it that name.”
Christine Smith added: “This is just one of the things we do to provide special experiences for people who use our care. Just because you need to take advantage of our services doesn’t mean we just leave you to your own devices. We like to interact with our users, find out their likes and dislikes and cater wholeheartedly to their needs.”
