Langley Park Care Home in Langley celebrated their 25th birthday on Friday 17th June as part of Care Home Open Day.
Sharon Smith, Care Home Manager, said: “I can’t believe Langley Park has been open for 25 years. We wanted to celebrate this achievement alongside the local community, so we invited everyone to come in and take part.”
As part of the celebrations the home hired a local entertainer, who sang some classic hits which people sang along to. Once the entertainer had finished, people were still in the wax lyrical mood, so the home then held a karaoke session which saw residents, relatives, visitors and the team alike all get up and have a go.
Sharon Smith added: “Everyone had a lovely time on the day, and it was a pleasure welcoming so many people into Langley Park. Let’s hope we’re here for another 25 years. The party then would be amazing!”
Care Home Open Day is a UK wide initiative inviting care homes to open their doors to their local communities. Events like the one at Langley Park Care Home will help to create lasting links between the residents and their local community.
Care Home Open Day is all about showing people what care homes are really about and how they can be at the centre of the local community, developing relationships across the generations.
