Everyone at Cherry Trees Care Home in Barnsley have been very busy.
Firstly some happy news to report. The lost canary, which was found in the home’s garden, has been reunited with its owners. The owners were thrilled to have the canary back and thanked everyone at Cherry Trees for taking such good care for it.
The home’s resident budgie has moved into the cage previously occupied by the canary as it had more room.
The home had the distinct smell of Brasso last week, as some of the residents took part in a spring clean. As well as creating a beautiful finish on the ornaments, the Brasso brought back memories and lots of fascinating tales from the residents.
After the spring clean, the ladies at Cherry Trees were treated to a pampering session in the salon, which involved hand massages and manicures. Meanwhile, the gentlemen were outside planting the bedding plants to inject some colour into the home’s garden.
Residents have made the most of the glorious weather, by taking time out to relax in the garden. For those that wanted to be a little more active, they had a friendly bowling competition.
Pauline Mountford, Home Manager, said: “It’s been a very busy few weeks here at Cherry Trees. The weeks have been filed with smiles and laughter as everyone has had lots of fun doing different things. I’m looking forward to the warmer weather sticking around so we can do more things with the residents outside.”
